What does the BOC course consist of?
BOC Institute is created thanks to the union of two professions, dentistry and physical therapy, in order to give a specific response to widely observed cross-sectional pathologies, such as bruxism, neck, head and temporomandibular joint pain.
Dr Mariano Rocabado and Dr Roberto Gutierrez have clinically and radiologically demonstrated that there is a craniovertebral, craniomandibular and dental occlusion relationship in most of their treated patients.
The concept of Tricentric Occlusion, widely developed in BOC seminars designed for multidisciplinary teams, will teach how to implement a joint work philosophy: diagnosis, multidisciplinary stabilizing treatment plan and functional occlusal rehabilitation, which will efficiently conclude the achievement of the patients tricentric stability.
We believe that Dentistry specialties; Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Maxillofacial Surgery and others, would benefit from knowing and participating in this concept of Tricentric Stabilization, since it forces the professional to look at an unknown field, which is vital for success.

- Simultaneous translation (subject to the number of Spanish-speaking or English-speaking attendees) will be offered.
- Imaging protocols are performed (Atlas-Axis CBCT, Rocabado´s TMJ CBCT Protocol, Dynamic Teleradiography), ONE DAY before the course begins for every student. This will be coordinated according to the traveling students schedule previously.
- Students shall bring a set of their own superior and inferior dental models. In case this is not possible (specially for physical therapists) impressions of occlusal models will be taken ONE DAY before the course begins. This will be coordinated according to the students traveling schedule previously.
- Each student will have their set of dental models mounted in an articulator, with a bite registration (taken without muscular action) that will be done during class hours. Those dentists who already work with an articulator can bring it for use.
